Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. There are many routes up the mountain but I chose the Lemosh route climbing slowly over 7 days with a long day of descent. During the ascent, climbers travel through several climates from sweltering jungle to frozen arctic and everything in between. I never made the top, I got as far as Stella Point on the rim of the volcano but I was thrilled with the climb.
